Jemima Joél is a Neo-Soul/R&B singer-songwriter and visual artist from New Orleans. Joél has a unique expression of singing and painting together, which makes for a pleasing and alluring aesthetic to the human eye and ear. Joél creates a soulful earthy and ethereal musical sound. She is raw and imperfect with her lyrics and romanticizes her personal experiences to create fresh music. In her art, she emphasizes the beauty of black people. Her newest music video for her single Nighttime, has garnered over 50,000 views on Youtube and is growing everyday.

In October of 2023, she gathered together a band so that she could perform more often. It is comprised of The band consists of Jemima Joél, (lead artist) Kahlon Davis, (drummer), and Drew Mosby (guitarist and sound engineer). Sounds of Gaia plays mainly neo-soul. They mix their set with old soul music, 90s neo soul music, new afro beat music, and Joél’s own original neo-soul/r&b songs. Sounds of Gaia also has really innovative music mash ups which allows different generations of music to connect and appeal to all different audiences of ages. Sounds of Gaia has a sensual and soulful earthy sound, but also is very family friendly.
